N-able is seeking a creative, data centric and highly motivated Staff UX Designer to become a valued leader in our product team and to bring simplicity and delight to superheroes <ahem> users. As part of an experienced UX team of Designers and Researchers, you’ll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including product managers, development, product marketing, executives, architecture and other company stakeholders.

 

You bring a strong customer focus, with a data-driven approach. You are looking for opportunities to lead others, and you’re big on collaboration; you stand up for the users' needs, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment. Your team members are global, so you rely as heavily on our virtual tools as you do on in-office teamwork.

 

The role of the Staff Designer is similar to a subject matter expert. You have a thorough and detailed knowledge of UX skills and methods, product knowledge and working practices. You operate independently at a high level as well as a mentor and guide to others. You routinely look for opportunities to improve UX the UX Team and how they operate.

 


What You'll Do


  • Comfortably leads project work directly or in conjunction with product teams
  • Is highly effective at working independently to produce complex features, wireframes, mock-ups or flows, hi and lo fidelity designs and interactive prototypes
  • Can execute interview-based evaluative usability research to support the design process
  • Collaborates expertly with internal stakeholders and external vendors on projects, design, research and with relevant stakeholder to understand project requirements
  • Directly contributes and helps shape the culture, team, contributes and influence in team meetings, and directly seeks to improve how we operate, our processes, tools, methods, skills, design patterns and behaviours
  • Fully understand and promote what we do as a business, our strategic direction and priorities and ensures this is embedded in what they do
  • Highly effective at taking complex scenarios and turning them into simple research problem or design solution
  • Champions the user at all times and seeks to highlight the key users experience impacts


What You'll Bring


  • Expert UX skills (5-10 years in a UX role)
  • Proven project leadership
  • Comfortable in conversations with Senior stakeholders
  • Good ability to mentor/lead associates and UX designer/researchers
  • Basic experience with presentations and public speaking
  • Deep knowledge and experience with relevant methods, skills and tools
  • Proficient in interviewing end users to inform design decisions
  • In depth experience of driving UX improvements within large organisations
