QA Automation Engineer is the role of established industry professionals who specialize in quality assurance and software engineering to contribute to Controlant's Quality Assurance team. They will demonstrate a strong competence in agile quality assurance testing and the skills to develop software to enhance their testing efforts. Supporting Controlant's R&D department, they will provide automated tests, development tools, and agile testing expertise to provide feedback on the correctness and non-functional attributes of Controlant's software and systems. The employee is expected to be capable of managing their time and priorities relating to the testing demands of their team and join the QA team's efforts for larger scope changes to the QA efforts. They are expected to work unassisted by a more senior QA Engineer in day-to-day work.

What are the responsibilities? 

• Design and develop automated tests.
• Coaching Controlant teams in QA best practices.
• Create, document, and maintain test cases in collaboration with product development teams.
• Execute tests (SW/HW).
• Arranging access to shared testing resources (such as outsourced labor).
• Participate in defining and evolving R&D's quality standards and procedures.
• Ensure products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Review and analyze system specifications to increase testability of designs.
• Grow their skills to meet the demands of the team.
• Perform other duties as requested.

What are the qualifications?

• Programming experience in one or more of the following programming languages: NodeJS, Java, C# and Python.
• 3 or more years of experience as a QA Tester or QA Engineer embedded in a team.
• Knowledge of version control software, such as git or subversion.
• Effective and civilized communication skills.
• Capable of self-managing their own work time.

Good to have:

• Experience with Power BI data tool.
• Good grasp of SQL as well as NoSQL technologies.
• Familiarity with Azure Pipelines and Data Lakes is a plus.
